Chilton County finished the 2016 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Chilton County finished sixth in Class 6A region three with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Since 2010, Chilton County has gone a combined 32-41. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 6A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Chilton County has managed to compile a record of 121-142. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 6A and 225th in the AHSAA. Brian Bradford leaves Chilton County after three seasons to accept the head coaching job at Stanhope Elmore. His time at Chilton County produced a 9-21 record and no playoff appearances. Tal Morrison will take over the football program at Chilton County for the 2017 season. He has spent the past nine years as an assistant coach under Danny Horn at Benjamin Russell. The Chilton County Tigers will play in Class 6A region three during the 2017 season. It will be an uphill battle for the Tigers if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region three this season. The Tigers open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Sylacauga on Friday, August 25 at Tiger Stadium. Last year the Sylacauga Aggies finished with an overall record of 8-3 and in third place in Class 5A region four. The Aggies lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Calera by a score of 35-34. Chilton County and Sylacauga have met a total of 43 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 15-27-1 record against the Aggies. They last met in 2016 with Sylacauga winning by a score of 28-20. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
